If anybody wants to get confused in a hurry, just log on the net. In your research you probably found banners are dead and a thing of the past, while other research shows banners are booming and are here to stay. Who to believe?
It's hard to cut through the clutter, but if you get to reputable sources, most times you'll find these resources are pretty close to their figures and stats.

Anyway, I still think banner are useful, especially if they're animated and small like 120x120. People still click through them.
