Hi Kristen,
I took a look at your site and it's very professional. That's a great start! So let's take a look at a few other factors that may be affecting your conversion rate...
1. Is your current conversion rate reasonable? Most websites convert between 1 and 3 of every 100 visitors to paying customers. If you're in this range then you're off to a good start. Now it's time to find ways to generate more traffic, keep customers coming back and "tweak" elements of your site. If you're not in this range then you need to determine why.
2. Is your traffic targeted? Untargeted traffic may be the problem here. It's important to consider whether the people who are coming to your site are even interested in what you're selling. Are they the right age? Do they have money? Is skin care a concern for them? Do they shop online? Are they looking for a new brand of skincare products? Create a profile of your ideal customer and then identify ways you can tell that person about your website.
3. Is your site focused enough? The articles are primarily for acne sufferers yet I see that you sell products for other types of skin conditions as well. Creating sections of your site for each category may be a good idea. That way you can drive targeted traffic to each section where potential customers will find articles and recommended products that are related to their specific skincare concerns.
