One of the most common mistakes (and yes I made it too...) is to spend all of your time trying market someone else's products, opportunities, services or scams.
It's not that affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertising (Adsense sites), network marketing, etc... don't work - it's just that in each case you are helping someone else achieve wealth.
Lead with your own product. Find a desire or need in the market, position yourself as the expert/solution provider and create your own ebooks, books, reports, courses, etc... designed to enforce your role as a leader in your chosen market space.
Once you have that leadership position, then you can form joint venture deals, license products, outsource product creation, advertise, and much more to diversify your income - it will all be so much easier if you can first create a product-related income stream.
