Awesome post Mike!
It reminds me that practically anything can work. You will
find just as many people to prove that their 'system' can
and does work as there are those who get taken.
I think the main question should be, "What are you looking
to accomplish?" In our effort to get 'there', how many of
us here fall for the...
"Alls You Have To Do"
Ah, the easy life. We dream about it and often expend much
energy in pursuit of it; and still it eludes us.
Isn't it nice to get a little surprise bonus once in a
while? How about a chance meeting with someone who can open
the doors to a whole new world - that serendipitous 'lucky'
break - what would that do for you?
In my own experience I have found that constantly searching
for the short way to happiness almost always ends up costing
me dearly in time and money because I fall prey to the "Alls
you have to do" hucksters in the world. As long as you are
looking for 'Easy Street' there will be someone there ready
to sell you a 'treasure map' leaving you to discover that
now you need a boat and a crew and endless supplies.
OK, hucksters aside, I want you to stop for a moment and
think about the many times you've gotten something for
nothing. Were you actually grateful and appreciative? Do
you even remember them? For most of us it truly is, "Easy
come, easy go." We have all heard of the lottery winners
who end up worse off than they started in just a few years.
Now contrast this with a major accomplishment; something
that you had to really stretch yourself to achieve. Not
only did you get the thing you desired; you also became more
than you were before. And while the 'thing' you got may
crack and crumble, you get to keep who you become forever!
How's that for serendipity?
Here's the deal; the short way is the long way, and the long
way is the short way. The quickest way to happiness is to
first make something of yourself and then give the new
improved you away to as many people as you can.
And for those who are still looking for that little spark to
give them a jump start, remember to be grateful and
appreciative for the gift of life we all get every day.
Alls you have to do...
