If you spend your time and money showing your dog to finish it so it is a champion, and always to the end of time, that dog will have CH associated with it, why not also have any health clearances part of the record?
Wouldn't it be nice when researching a dog or line, you also would be able to know about the health stuff? Fine that you say you haven't had any, but you know as well as me, anyone can say anything. Sort of like buying a used car. The salesman can tell you it runs like a dream, but if you drive it a mile and it breaks down, you are out of luck.
Does it prevent health problems? Well, it is just like breeding "type". If you consistantly breed good heads, nice tail sets, etc, then your odds of getting the same improve, right? Nothing is a guarantee, but you can improve your odds. And it allows others to see you are trying.
