BCA Nationals

by

The BCA Nationals is a pretigious event attended by people from all over the world. Breeders and owners plan for this event for over a year in advance, with most of them handling their own bulldogs. I believe putting time constraints on our Judges would have a negative impact on our Nationals.

I remember my first Nationals. I was in a class of 55 and the Judge broke the class up into 3 groups. The Judge took the time to evaluate each dog in the class equally. It was a long wait, but very worth while and exciting when I was placed 1st in the class. I would have been very disappointed if I was in the last group and the Judge hurried over my dog to meet a time schedule.

If the BCA Nationals continue to grow in entry numbers, we will probably have to adopt the format that Golden Retrievers and Shelties use. They have one show, using one ring, continuing over five days. Even with that format, the Golden Retriever Nationals went an hour and a half over their schedule for BOB. Until then we can continue to enjoy the prestige and excitement of three shows over Nationals week.
