When I went with a friend's to her Nationals (Shelties) they used an overhead projector. They only had one ring (one show all week) but they used it to communicate to those marking catalogs: the armbands of those who were just placed.

I tried to get it in place for our Nationals but did not have time! It could be used to communicate what was happening in each ring, and who won what in each ring. It was clearly visable everywhere in the room. For instance those that came to our nationals in Spokane...it would have been behind the judges' educations on the wall across from all seating. The sheltie people also used it to communicate reminders (silently) like banquet tickets etc....even found keys!
