Does anyone know how a breed that JUST does Nationals
by
do on money?
I know that it was said that not having the other two day of club specialtie cuts into money made.
But, isn't the purpose of a Nationals ALSO to enjoy all the other attractions, meetings, seminars, visiting, outside tours, etc? And for the purpose of the show itself, itsn't it not just for the ones you are showing, but also to be able to WATCH the judging, to see the up and coming dogs?
I know the Nationals week has gotten to be so tiring, so stressful, for all involved. If the club can still make a profit by just having the Nationals, with Sweeps and obedience one day, dogs one day, bitches one day and Breed one day, wouldn't that leave more room for time for meetings, seminars, visiting and getting to see all the dogs that are there?
Perhaps the local club and Division might not make "as much" money, but what if they hold their shows the Saturday and Sunday prior to Nationals week? Then the day of meetings, attractions, etc, and start with the Nationals judging? That way, for those that really want to cram all the showing in that they can, they can still do it. For those that want to enjoy and experience the "National" experience, it won't be so stressful and such long days.
Just some thoughts.
