Very saddened...

by

I came home from work this morning to find a message on my machine, that a friend of mine had passed. I was/am upset. I too personally know Jerry, and it really bothered me with how the message was posted about "taking his life" without Most people knowing how very sick and painful Jerry was. If you did...you may have understood maybe why it did end this way. He was a proud man. I have always thought that Dr. Jack Kevorkian provided a kind humane service....we are kinder to our animals when sick and terminal, yet we prolong suffering for our own kind.

Jerry truly was a bulldog Champion....in it for the breed...not all the glory, that at times becomes more important for some. He and Janet NEVER missed a nationals to my knowledge until he got sick, and was always at the specialty shows.(even if they didn't show)...b/cause he loved the Breed, and the Bulldogger Friends around him, and to usually lend a kind word or witty comment. He continued to work on committee of the Bulldogger even when he became sick. He held offices in the BCA.....OUR breed was important to him!

Yes it is true, he did end his life...and it hurts me to think that someone would have to suffer so much in pain (and I have seen it, I am a nurse) that more couldn't have done more for him, and had him pass on more peacefully.
