Last Sunday My little Butterfly aborted her puppies..She had a dead puppy high up in the left horn and we lost all of them on day 52..There were 4 pups in total..Monday I took her to the vets for an oxytocin shot to clean her out..They did an ultrasound and found the dead puppy..Her discharge was putrid and blackish green..So she was also put on antibiotics..
On Tuesday she was not doing anybetter so I ran her out to Dr. Butchkos where they kept her until today..She almost died...The infection started to shut down her liver, pancreas, and kidneys..She was to weak for a spay SO she was put on IV baytril and something else..Yesterday her numbers were all back to normal except her white count which is going down..SO she finally got to come home and I will continue her meds here..IF her white cell count continues to go down she will not have to be spayed..
I just want to say what an excellent job Dr. Butchkos did in saving Butterfly. Steven was very thorough and I am so grateful to have him as a vet..
Soo now Butterfly is racing around her crate wagging her tail and very happy to be home..Youd never know what she just went through..She is so important to my breeding program and if we have to spay her I am ok with that..Least I still have her..
