AKC is catering to the pet sector to make registrations easier. The easier it is the more registrations they get and the more money they make. Pet owners usually have a hard time distinguishing the colors and markings so I almost always fill that out for them. Somebody is writing these colors in thus the need for AKC to include them even though it goes against the standard. My assumptions are the byb's and importers are not filling out the registration papers for the pet owners or they themselves are writing these terms in and passing on the ignorance.
