There are two federal bills to regulate breeders that have recently(last two business days) been introduced in congress. One in the house(HR 6949) and one in the senate (S 3519) The text of these two have not been posted from the Government PrintingOffice (GPO) yet. This is normal, it takes a day or so to get thingsprinted etc. Many times they will introduce legislation from the house and from thesenate. This give the opportunity for one to get through the process.In the end they usually will merge the bills. Senator Durbin (D) from Illinois introduced the senate bill. The linkto the text of his statements to the Senate is below. Senator Durbinalso just recently recieve the Farm Bureau award for his work inagricluture. He is also the assistant senate majority leader.
