Hi Patti,

I have to say that I saw them at birth and then again at 7 weeks. I had 2 favorites at birth - this one and the red and white one that was marked very similarly to the mother. The sleeper was the piebald fawn/red and white. It was interesting to see how they matured and how the qualities that I liked at birth either continued to be significant or not. The red and white one is a quality puppy but I don't think she is as good as this one. She's on her way to a show home in Arizona. The sleeper is on her way to a show home in the Midwest. I think that sleeper has the second best head in the litter. I was very pleased with how well they all kept their bodies short and how well their structure came about. We'll see how they continue to mature.

I did the breeding strictly on type alone and how well each parent complemented each other. I was extremely familiar with the dogs in the pedigree as I had the privilege to live with each one of the dogs in the first two generations except for Artemis. I really enjoy appraising each animal's qualities and watching to see how those traits come down. It's a joy to take all that in and make my own decisions as to whom to breed to and go for exactly what I like regardless of what's "in style." If things don't work out, then I know I'm the only one to blame. happy.gif I have to try to make every breeding count.
