Good bye "Grandma B"

by

Many of you know Bella. I rolled her over yesterday to do her nails(I only do them once a month because she hates it) and saw she was covered in mammary masses. They weren't there last month, so the cancer was truly aggressive. She was coughing off and on this month but I passed it off as getting old and it was cold outside. I took her in today and had her put to sleep.
Last night was pretty good for the old girl, the kids said there goodbyes and gave her hugs and treats. She got a huge bowl of her favorite pasta. This morning, Brennen called her a good girl and she managed to steal his banana. She got Tramadol and Rimadyl to make sure she wasn't in pain and slept on an extra fluffy blanket.
I met Edgar because of Bella. She sat on his foot in the ring (while she was in heat), I guess marking him as hers...lol I got Bella originally because Linda and I were leasing her to have a litter. Her owner and I decided she should just stay with me, and she did. So, Rachel if you're lurking...thank you so very much. Bella was an awesome dog. Ever so sweet to the kids, but was still a bitchy bitch in the back yard. I will love and miss her always. She was to turn 10 in May. I had just remarked about 5 minutes before finding the cancer that she had outlived many of her ancestors. Rest in peace sweet girl.
