It has to be a very "outstanding bitch" to be at the top (if ever). They settle for 2nd place and feel that is a huge accomplishment (which it is). I think it's just a gender thing. The bitches aren't as grand as the dogs generally.
Then you have the production issue. Should a bitch be out campaigning when she is the age that she should be producing her first litter? I would think age 3 and 4 is probably the best years to campaign so what happens to the role of production? Some come back better after a litter but I don't think that is the norm.
