I understand your question, but I honestly think of Bulldogs as the K-9 version of a dwarf. Big dog stuff shoved into a small package.

One dangerous bit of myth is that the bulldog is a dwarf breed. It is NOT. Be very firm about that.
A correctly made bulldog should exibit NO signs of congenital dwarfism;ie, abnormally short long bones (front legs), the large head in relation to the abnormally small body, the "east-west" eyes.
If your mental ideal of a bulldog sounds like what I just typed, time to re think things.
