it is not ignorance, not on HSUS' part. Pit bulls are easy targets. If you can outlaw or eliminate a breed, you set a precedent. Pit bulls for "aggression". Bulldogs for conformation. Toy and giant breed for "unnatural size". Long coated, short legged whatever.
HSUS is an animal liberation organization hiding behind a veneer of animal welfare.
They give lip service to adopting shelter pets because it undermines purebred dogs and breeders.
They give lip service to responsible breeders, while pushing laws tailored to destroy them.
They run a sanctuary, but no shelters. They charge shelters for consultations and preach the killing of pits, feral cats, neonatal animals etc...
Slick, well funded, hypocritical and dangerous.
