Response to ANZ announces Major Sponsorship of PNG Student Organisation, Kumul Scholars International

The KSICOC meeting No.12 of the 19th of May has resolved to let you know of the following developments.
Foremost as you have already read from the KSI executives, responses from corporate sposors have been very encouraging with the announcement by ANZ(Australia) via ANZ (PNG) of their sponsorship of $5000 towards the conference. The revised committee's target of approximately $16,000 is within reach. The committee sends its appreciation to the KSI executives who have been instrumental in getting the sponsorship package negotiated.

It is the committee's understanding that another major sponsor from PNG will soon be making a formal announcement of their pledge to also sponsor the conference.Details of that sponsorship will be available as soon as it is made known to the executives.

In terms of participation, encouraging responses have been received from Victoria and Queensland to date. Victoria has tentatively indicated sending about 15-20 participanats while Queeensland is yet to sort out and finalise their numbers. The committee here in Canberra is preparing for up to 50 inter state delegates to the conference.

In view of plan.B the conference committee has reprogrammed the conference to be held over two days. That is from the 10th to the 11th of July( final days will be advised after re-confirmation with KSI executives). We are confident at this stage that many more inter state delegates will nominate to travel to the conference.

We have also resolved to seek KSI approval for invitations to be extended to participants from Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. If KSI approves to the request they can also be given extended invitations to participate in the conference - Ol tu ol lain spia het bilong Melanesia...
