Welcome everyone, just to let you know of what is going on. In meeting no.7 of the Canberra students organising committee, John Maru has been given the task of chairing the efforts of the Canberra students Conference Organising Committee. So far, Ruth Turia has done a tremendous job of getting the preparatory work going. At the end of next month, she goes away for her field trip.
However, it is our intention to retain her services in an advisory capacity. Both Charles Yala and herself will be reviewing and reading all your papers that are being forwarded for presentation to the conference.
In due course, you will be advise of the committee members. On behalf of you all I will be extending our sincere words of gratitude to her when meeting number.08 convenes this afternoon.
After Easter, the committee intends to provide you with a weekly undate of major activities, advise of issues that may affect your participation including seeking your views on pressing issues concerning the format, papers and post conference issues. Matters outside of the committee's jurisdiction, such as those under KSI proper will be referred to the KSI before a decision is made.
Same day responses to some queries may not be forthcoming as you may expect. This is because there may be issues you will raise that requires the committee's deliberation on or professional advising before a reply is provided.
A conference e-site is been worked on by some of our colleagues here in Canberra of which you will also know soon. In the meantime, colleagues in other states and countries are encouraged to regularly check the PNGSCAPE site related to them. Messages specific to their locality will be posted accordingly.

Good..afford..people down-under... whats the all purpose of this occassion, and how soon will those papers that will be presented be implemented in png....
