My fellow music boredians! In light of the TV bored members succumbing to the catchy pop tunes of Justin Timberlake, I realize that now is the time to mount our defense! We must take to the streets and bring music back to the people! No more Jack-Os or Clay Aikens! Long live the music of the Beatles and the Doors and the Clash!
Join STABB (Stop Tremendously Awful Boy Bands) today and be a part of the revolution!
While I did put this up as a joke, I was thinking that we might be able to make something of this. A closely-knit group of people working towards educating the current generation on the music of yesteryear. Put up posters, talk about it to people you know. Get kids interested in real music! Look at what Mtv did for crappy pop. If we take that concept and apply it to our sich, we may have something!
I know you know that there's some really tops music of THIS year still going around, and that we don't have to always look back on "the golden age of rock"...dude...
I'll join. As long as it's free, and I don't have to do anything.
Actually, most of today's music is just recycled rock from "the golden years." Look at this new garage rock movement with the Strokes and the White Stripes.
And all this crappy pop came from somewhere. It's just Beatles tunes with all of the creativity and originality filtered out.
But kids NEED to know where this stuff came from. Where it all started. Music has changed my life, and I'd love for every teenager to experience that. Though this is not possible, it can't hurt to try.
Rocks, you don't hafta do anything besides mention this stuff to parents or kids or whatever. I'd love to take to the streets and preach this stuff, but not everyone is as hardcore as me .
Sorry, we have no room in the budget for shiny things. And you are required to have at least five pieces of flare on at all times. But I think a Lemmy poster in your cubicle would be acceptable.
