Hello,

I am new to this board. I have been perusing various homeschool message boards and see a lot of discussion about different curriculla. I have never seen anything about the Alpha Omega Lifepacs. We have been using an eclectic blend of curriculla the past few years with much input from my ds (14) and dd (13).

We started using a couple of their Lifepacs for electives and my daughter is currently completing their grade 8 math with as much success as she had in Saxon academically, but with much more enjoyment. She does not find it as boring and tedious as Saxon. We are all three having success with the subjects we've used so far this year. I find them easy to organize, pace and grade. They enjoy the ease of using one small "workbook" at a time. We are considering switching to the entire grade curriculum next year but the one comment I did read on another message board said they tended to be vague and not very in-depth.

Both ds and dd intend to homeschool through high school with college following. We would like to find a more organized curriculum than we have been using for fluidity in the high school years.

We've tried A Beka in the past and found it to be expensive and geared more for classroom study. We would appreciate any opinions and experiences anyone wants to share.

I also want to mention that we are pretty much secular homeschoolers, so we don't require a christian based curriculum, but we don't mind using one either.

Thanks,

Lisa
