I am trying to find a curriculum to use with my twin 10th graders who are mildly mentally retarded. They are currently working around the 7th grade level. I would like to find something that focuses on things that they will help them succeed in everyday life. Basic math for budgeting etc. First aid and health type things for science. I don't want to continue to try and go over diagramming sentences or the table of elements, Algebra, and yet I would like for them to be able to get their HS diploma. Is there anything out there like this?

i have a friend with a child that is severly diasabled the child can not do anything for his self at all.
the school board is wanting him in the schools he has no immune system, can not communicate with you, has to be turned every 30 minutes can you tell me if you know of any body with a similar situation. the mother wants the child at home, he has already lived several years longer than they thought he would. And going into the public school system will hurt him more than ever?

A good friend of mine is using Malibu Cove High School's correspondence program for their ld daughter. They tailored her curriculum to her specific grade levels in each subject ( she's at 6th/7th grade levels in every subject)and she's doing great. She's in 11th grade and is on track to graduate next year.
Hope this helps,
Julianna :)
