One way to simplify the selection process....

Have airhead teen miss all the deadlines. Yep, our choices are suddenly a bit more limited, given that all the stuff has to be postmarked today or Monday, and DS didn't get the requisite teacher rec's and transcripts sent.

I sat down with him today and we used the Princeton Review site to find colleges that would be a good fit, and that he still had time to apply to.

Car keys and cell phone will be gone from Monday until ALL the work is done to apply to Georgetown, George Washington, UNC (Chapel Hill) and FSU and UF (Bright Futures scholarships make those a must.)

He heard that U of Chicago "deferred" his early decision app. meaning that they will look at the whole applicant pool and let him know by March.

By the time we do all this with DS#3, we may actually know what we are doing!
Wish us luck - U of Chicago is still his first choice - by a LOT.
