He was so ready. We were so ready. Maybe a delayed reaction will set in, but we got him there and moved his stuff in, met the roommates and bought groceries, and came home.
That was a week ago. I went up with DS's girlfriend on Wednesday to take DS to dinner for his 18th birthday.
He seems to be so totally happy with his roommates, classes, and general situation. What a relief. He'll be down for Labor Day weekend.
I think I would be having a MUCH harder time if he were farther away. 2 1/2 hours seems just right. Had we taken him to New York, North Carolina, or Washington, D.C., I would probably be a wreck right now.
Maybe I'll get choked up when DS#3 leaves in 4 years. Or maybe DH and I will just have a big party :-)
Did your DS get all his books, etc.? How does he like his dorm, classes, etc?
