I have a Toshiba 55” Protection telly (5 years old), the warrantee has just expired 2 month ago. When powered on, the screen is blank/black and there is no sound, however the standby/power light on the front just flashes every second or so and emits a soft sounding discharge or soft static crackle sound as if the screen has been turned off.
Also, does anyone know the Service Mode sequence for this model?
Any help to both problems would be most appreciative.

Interestingly, my 43" Toshiba rear-projection did exactly the same thing yesterday. I'm now in search of a repair person to see if I can get this fixed in the next few days. I'm really hoping someone responds to these messages as I would be happy to attempt to fix this myself.

Locate the two convertion IC STK 392-110 Replace that you should be ok.

tv power light is on with sound but no picture. not even blank blue screen.
