If You know nothing about electronics, and i know for a fact that you don't because if you did, you already had checked the power supply and had given us the results of what you had checked so far,for exemple. If fuse ok? the stand off resistor ok? rectifier ok? Big cap ok?and filter caps ok? resistors ok? how many volts at B+,and how many volts at collector of the hot if there was any? if 5v were present at pin 8 of the eeprom? so you see this is just some of the minimum checks a tech has to do before asking any help, don't mess with it, this is pretty ticky set,besides all this, you need an oscillator . to be able to check wave forms,all this advice applys for anybody that post for help here, so we here willingly to help don't have to guess what someone's fault is.

the little burn marks on the prongs of the plug is normal. a spark occurs everytime whenever the cord is plugged in, which is normal. it occurs because of the standby power supply circuits. anything that draws power when it is first plugged in will have some level of a spark. does the red light on front of tv come on at all?
