I have a Sony Big Screen Tv, and the picture is fading. There are horizontal lines and the picture goes in and out. I think that the tube needs to be replace. Is that correct? Where can I buy the tube?

Ok moron. If it's really a "big screen", aka rear projection, you've got three picture tubes in there. Green, red, and blue. You most likely have a different problem somewhere in the video circuit. Kreskin I am not, and therefore cannot pinpoint your particular problem over the internet. Good luck finding your "smart"!

so where is place to start looking for the video circut, and what does it look like

If you take the back of there is a panel marked VIDEO go into that and check the leads are tight. If that fails refit the back and pick up the yellow pages and find someone with a hope of fixing this as to be honest you dont.
