Here is the post:
Problem With My DVD Player?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've got a Pioneer DV-440 DVD player that I paid almost $300.00 for a few years ago. When I first load a DVD it will play for approximately 30 seconds before it stops. Once it stops, I can't perform any other functions. If I take out the DVD, blow in the tray and wipe the DVD, it will normally play again. Sometimes I have to do that a couple of times before it works. Has anyone else ever had a player with a similar problem? Is it worth fixing or do you think it needs a cleaning? Did I fawk something up in my settings? It happens with both new and burnt DVD and they all stop playing at around the same elapsed time. Does anyone know the contact information for the place in Dartmouth/Burnside that repairs electronics for Glubes?

If it's a player, not recorder, the only thing to try is clean the lens.
A player cost at the moment around 40 dollars ( euro) here in Belgium
so we even do not repair these sets! 30 minutes and a part is more expensive then a new one! |

throw it away & buy a new one. there's no money in trying to fix that kind of junk. |
