ESR TEST

Hi guys i dont have an ESR meter i wander if you guys heard about using a 400v 470nf cap in series with the meter on the ac range? i looked for a cap that is 400v 470nf couldn't find any i have a fairly good digital meter with cap test to 4ouf above 40uf i nomaly test the caps in the diode position what you guys think about this thanks in advance..

Sorry I dont understand your question, An ESR meter is used on electroltics, so why would you want to figure out the ESR of a .001 That is open or short, so move on. ESR is the resistance to signal and mainly when cold. An ESR meter is worth ts weight in gold, I use a Dick Smith and recomend it, but it is a tool for a professional as it requires to be understood. It does not tell you a .001 reads .002, it tells you its resistance to AC, you have to figure out how good or bad that is.
