hi good people can anybody help me on this big microwave Diode attached to the big cap that is opened p#is cLol-12 RG603 the micro wave is a Emerson 1000wpower can i sub with one from electronics 12kv 550miliamps.

The amps is a bit low, In a microwave its a stack of dides which is usually 1A, Cripes a stack diode is cheap and sold as a replacement at a couple of dollars, why experement. Also please note be careful here Over where I am A guy believed he had a bad contact and gripped it with
1.5KV insolated pliers. He gained his wings. Sad but true.

you can get a microwave diode about any where for $2-$5 . also i doubt that the diode is bad. I have worked on microwaves for 25 years and usally it is a bad magnetron tube, or a bad capacitor. altho i have had a bad diode once or twice. but usally it is just about all the time, the tube or cap that makes diode bad, if it is bad.

I agree after fixing these things for more years than I will admit to where stack diodes were green BY127s on a board about 15cm long, I have yet to find an open circuit stack diode. Look at the cooling fins of the magnetron, if there is any distortion there its shot.
