| Hi. I have a sick Toshiba 50VJ23P, and was wondering if any of you would have an idea of what to look for.
When you switch on the TV you can hear the sound but can't see a picture.
I have had a look at the boards by eye and cannot see any burnt broken or scorched components.
Any ideas would be apreciated.
Thanks, Nik. |

check for any high voltage from flyback with a probe. |

I have turned the brightness right up on the front of the TV and there is now a single horisontal line across the middle of the entire screen.
Any ideas? |

I now believe the IC LA7833 (vertical deflection output IC) to be faulty. Just got to check see if it has taken anything else out. |

also check and replace any bad caps in the vertical circuit. |
