| I am working on a 1995 projection magnavox model FP4625 chassis PTV706 does anyone know what the set up parameters are on the set up menu ? I replaced the eeprom , and now need to adjust it correctly. I have the set up on a PTV835 but it is different than the PTV705. thanks in advance. Tom |

0-6-2-5-9-6-menu will get you in. BTW, what was the problem with the old eeprom? It seems that ever since every tech's experience with the CTC 175-77-87 chassis eeprom troubles, techs are all too quick to replace eeprom chips that likely are not defective. I am an old time TV tech and I have NEVER swapped out an eeprom except in those RCA chassis.
You don't want to create more work for yourself while doing your repair.

Hello Dave, The problem with the old IC was that it had no( on screen display )and no video on red & green crt's. I scoped it down to the eeprom TA8845AN I replaced it with a TA8845BN which works fine. I now have video and OSD , however the picture needs touched up a little on the width, height, & pip positions. So I need the correct register numbers to set it up right. Now you said CTC chassis for RCA, did you mean magnavox? I am working on a mag. PTV706 I do know how to get into the service menu, but I just need to know correct parameters. Thanks for any info you can share, Tom |

Good that you got your video and OSD back after changing out that TA8845 chip. However, it is NOT the EEPROM! It is the YC jungle or video processor or whatever else Phillips calls it. The EEPROM is a little 8 pin IC mounted near the main micro, and I would bet it is NOT bad. You don't want to creat another problem in addition to the original one.
If you are having an issue with adjusting parameters regarding the TA8845, you may still have some unresolved circuit issues, or else the replacement TA8845 was bad. You probably wouldn't have to readjust any of the paramenters anyway.
Sounds like you have a challenging repair on your hands.

Hi Dave, I did try another IC ta8845an which is the correct one, but tv still does the same thing. also the convergenace won't align, it looks like bad yokes, but I tried different ones from another tv with no help. the green grid is all curvy lines. I did repair convg. module and it works ok in a different tv. any ideas. thanks Tom |
