I had gotten my hands on this RA56M91D Zenith Projection TV and it would run fine for a few minutes, then the picture would get all wonky, curving in at the sides and the colors go way out of alignment. (They weren't so well aligned to start with)... I read somewhere else that the problem might be a "convergence output chip", but I don't know enough about the electronics to say one way or another. Anyone out there know what this problem is and what is a solution for it (aside from trashing the TV)? Thanks!

Replace R3243 (110K, 1/2w) on 9-1674-xx module. HV splitters are NLA from zenith, replacements are cheap chinese crap that dont work. Your splitter is probably ok, they dont cause conv. problems.

When resistor R3243 fails,is when is open, causing the problem all the times..not when set runs fine for minutes..then the problem appears.

Well, I plugged it in again and this time the TV goes all curvy and out of focus right from the start. So, it is now doing this 'all the time'. How does that affect the diagnosis? Any chance there is a loose or bad connection? Also, did you want a pic of the TV's exterior or the interior (to see the electronics)? I appreciate all the responses so far!

I have to wonder if the last responce from the MAN, was really from the MAN. He had thanked us all before, but now all of a sudden he thinks were idiots? I don't think he really said that, I think someone else is trying to frame him.

You're correct. Whoever that was, was definitely NOT me! I would not treat people who are trying to help me that way. I guess it was just someone with nothing better to do.

Here is a pic of the TV's picture, it shows the problem quite well, as the edges of the picture are bowed in on all sides and the colors are misaligned. Thanks for any advice to fix this problem!

That actually sounds simple, as long as one knows where the module is located... Will I need the schematic, or can I tell my stepfather that snippet of information and reasonably expect him to find it easily?
