SAMSUNG CX-5344N - sound tuned outApril 2 2007 at 10:30 AM No score for this post | SAMSUNG CX-5344N - sound tuned out (no login) |
| it is SAMSUNG CX-5344N
1118 No SERIE: 3HBK800378K
The picture works, but the sound has no signal.
With fine-tuning, i can tune sound. But when i tune sound, there's no
picture signal.
Seems like the sound is on another frequency than the picture. What can cause this? Any ideas?
Thanks for any help. |

I can hear EHT come on. The heater glows.
g1 is 0.3V
g2 is 200V
all cathodes are 145V.
when i press "picture size" button, i can see dim vhite horizontal line
near the top of the screen |

unplugging didn't help. I unplugged for couple minutes. unplugged for night. Still the same.
There's no picture, no OSD.
I can only see the upper edge of raster (thin dim white line) probably when tv is in 9:16 mode.
The deflection works ok.
Sorry, i don't understand - what does mean "RESET" in TV ?

The Reset Mode is used during factory inspection.
Function Reset:
1. Channels Add/Erase
2. Language Last condition
3. Station name Clear

thanks.
but why the TV has no picture since i pressed RESET?
i pressed reset, "wait for 5 seconds" appeared on screen. Then the tv turnet off by itself. I turned it on, had no picture...
What about the voltages i written above? are they ok? is 200 v on g2 enough to light up the screen? And what about 145V on cathodes? isn't it too high? |

Did you adjust the luminance, contrast ?
Adjust the ug2 a little higher, what do you see? |

the screen is dark even with g2 set on max.
Today i turned the tv on and the picture appeared. The cathodes voltages falled to 95V. But when i turned off and on again, the picture was gone. It didn't appear any more. Now the cathodes are 145V again. I dont understand it... there is TDA6108JF driving cathodes... can it be the cause? |

i downloaded datasheet for TDA6108JF and measured input voltages. There is 2.1 V on each input. The datasheet tells that 145V output is OK when the input is 2.1V TDA is ok.
Any ideas what can cause blanking? |

change the eprom ic or load it with a dump.
Did you try to go in service menu again? |

What is the eprom? there are several ICs.
I don't understand what does mean "load it with a dump" - can you describe it closely?
I tried to go to the service menu again, but the screen is still dark.
Thanks

eprom = memory ic (8 pins) 24c... replace it, could solve your problem. |

There's 24W16 Eprom.
Are you sure it's the problem?

The picture was gone after you pushed RESET, so yes.
Problem with audio could mayby be solved too.
Try it, the chip cost less than 1 dollar. |

I replaced the EPROM 24c16.
First time i turned it on, the picture appeared. Sound still hisssing.
I turned it off, on again. The picture didn't appear anymore.
So i have still the same problem. Replacing EPROM seem to have no effect.
Any ideas ? |

GET A CAN OF FREEZE MIST & FREEZE THAT EPROM TO SEE IF PICTURE WILL COME BACK ON. |

Yes, screen dark.
Even with G2 set on max it is dark.
All 3 cathodes of the tube are +145V. Input voltages of the video amplifier are +2V (blanking level ?)
It seems something is blanking the tube... but i don't know what. |
