I have a Sony 42" projection model number KP-43T75. It is about 8 years old. The timer standby light flashes 7 times. When I turn the tv on the screen is blured out and the noise is static. After about 5 minutes (sometimes more and sometimes less) the video is clear and the sound is good. This only happens in using the TV. When I switch to video the DVD works fine.....picture and sound are clear. I have changed cables and cable box to new ones. Where do I begin?

I have heard that from others aswell. What does it mean and how do I fix it? Is it costly? Is it something I can do myself? Thank you for your response

the tuner is about $80.00 US dollars. if you can solder good, then you can replace the tuner.
