I am hoping anyone can answer, or at least offer any suggestions as to why my 60" RCA Projector Television stopped working. It just so happens, that one morning I go to turn the TV on, and nothing happens. I heard the TV click on, then it turned it's self off right away. I tried again to power on the tv, and it turned off by itself again. Immediately following that, an odor of burning wires or something came from the tv. I unplugged the tv right away to make sure nothing caught on fire. I've tried calling several technicians in my area, and they won't even touch it because it's not under warranty anymore. Has anyone had a problem like this with their tv? and if so, what was the cause of the problem and if it's costly. Thanks for your time and look forward to any suggestions.

His model number was in the opening line, it tells the real tecks it's PTK178 built from 1995 to 97. with a set 10 years or more older the problem could be capacitors dryed up raising the B+ voltage then destroying the splitter, That problem has kept techs in bizness for years.
