Dont know the set, but going to normal use, child lock stops the kids using the TV and the handset is used to access and exit that function so if the remote is stuffed how did you get it into lock. I suspect you have a power problem rather than a lock issue. But if you are correct you will need a remote to power the set up. Normal is just hold the power button on it for a few seconds.
