Samsung hln5065w 3 years old (big screen hd) I'll turn the set on and it plays well. After running for a while it hangs up when I try to use the remote or directly from the tv controls. The picture will stay on, but the sound goes off and it won't change the channel. It also will not power off using the remote or power button on the set. I need to unplug it. Then need to leave it off for a few hours to play it again. Samsung tech service said "We don't know the answers". WHAT GOOD ARE THEY? They told me to replace the lamp and I did. $165.00 wasted. Problem still there. PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU, Tom.

There was a service bulten out on this that describes what you do and it is REAL BAD. The buleten reads that the board known as the DMD board may be bad, this will lock up the set and the only way to shut it off is to unplug it, This may have destroyed parts in the digial board as well, But since the Digital board will not be avalible you have to repace both the Digital and Anolg signal board so the set will have audio, So now you got the DMD, Digital and Anolog board to replace, Cost of all these around $1300.00. When we did Samsung as a Warenty station when what you describe happens we have NEVER been able to get all the parts to work, or if they did not for vary long.

Thank You for the response. One more question. This TV still plays as long as I don'T attemt to change a channel or use any other function. Is that the normal thing that happens with this type of TV problem?
