I have a GE television, model # 27GT617, purchased in 1994. My problem is that the picture appears to be pushed forward or enlarged on the screen, i.e. the margins are cut off all the way around the picture, otherwise, the picture appears normal. Is there an adjustment or fix for this problem?

Thanks!

Could be a pincushion problem. There is a shorted cap, diode, or transistor in the pincushion circuit.
Which chassis is it?

The modle# and the chassis# is on the back of the set cover,if you don't know where and what a chassis# and modle# is how you want to repair an electronic equipment?.
Anyway though i give you these tips and good luck. CHECK/REPLACE C4407 (0.047uF @ 400v) AND CR4403 (ECG580)

Its a CTC177 but the problem could be just about anything from a corupy e-prom to weak capacitor or a bad flyback, But you have to ask yourself would you be willing to spend about $100.00 to repair a 13 year old set when for another 50.00 or so you can get a new one. Because if you do fix this set you know what you got? A 13 year old set
