I have a 17" Philips LCD TV model 17PF9936/37 with no powering up condition. I was able to have screen ligh up as soon as I disconnected the interface cable going from video board to board on LCD. But when reconnected it does not light up. Inspected wires and seemed to be ok. Retouched solder joints on caps, connector and power connectors, no change. This is my brothers unit and he states the kids dropped the TV and then it stopped working. I inspected boards for cracks and screen for broken condition. All ok. Note, I was only once during inspection was able to power up unit normally. Repower up several times and seemed ok. I then thought I had it fixed. Put it together and had black screen at power up. Reopen and no change. Any help is appreciated. Do I have a Bad video board or LCD interface board.
