I've had this TV since 1988.It has worked perfectly all these years.3 days ago,it started to make crackling sounds when I hit the power button, but it still came on.Now the set is DEAD 3 days later.I know it's old but I think it's worth fixing considering the quality of the new stuff that's out there. The picture and audio are great!!The fuse is OK as are the rectifiers. Can anyone be of some help out there?? THANKS

Well at 20 years old there should be a bazzilion capacitors that need changing, and if the Flyback is gone you will never find one, Cold solder joints weak componets and then after all the repairs you still have a twenty year old set. Best bet would be to save the money from the repair and get a new set
