This set squeals and will not power up. Any feedback appreciated. again the model number is rca xl100 f27615 the chassis number is ctc203axi. I don't know too much about tv repair,but i do have soldering skill and have dabbled in electronics so a walk-thru would be appreciated if anyone has the time... I do suspect some sort of transformer, i have not taken the back off yet..

It's most likely your HV. transformer along with the Horizontal output transistor. You should also resolder the horizontal driver transformer, when those connections become loose, you lose drive to the horizontal output transistor causing it to work harder and then over-heats and shorts.
