I can't think of a better way to describe the problem than the title. If you close the front door of the house it apparently causes the TV to jiggle and so then the picture will jitter and settle to normal...........maybe, then sometimes it will jitter up and down, the top corners will jiggle in.. But never does it go black. It is as though the picture looses configuration and then snaps back. Tap on the side of the TV and most the time the jittery picture will react to the tap. If left alone usually the picture will settle in to hours of operation without any jitter. Sometimes jitter every now and then. When it is jittering if you lightly tap on the bottom it is affected generally double as much as tapping the upper side. (these are lite taps). When the TV is cold and turned on fresh it takes a while before it stops jittering and becomes stable. 5-8 minutes.
When a friend plugged in his PS2-3 to the front input, the sound from guitar hero, the picture was affected so much by the game noise(I assumed) that we had to patch the sound directly to the receiver and not use the tv speakers. That did take care of the problem mostly.
Anyway it acts as though there is loose connection. I even checked the plug into the receptacle to see if that could be jiggled to cause it.. And no it did not affect it. I inspected the cord itself and the connection to the tv and all good.
I am assuming a connection and/or a component on a specific board has loosened up or is beginning to fail. I am not an Elec-Tech, But have messed around with this and that through the years, built a few radios and gadgets in the old days.. I figure with advice and help I could manage to pull out the problem board and re-solder a connection or remove and/or replace the component(a cap or resistor or...) with good enough workmanship if I am instructed on what to do and how. I know little or nothing about the part/component that I am fixing or replacing though.
I would love to find it before it completely fries and fries something else with it. And so I can watch my big beautiful tv without the jitter jitter.. lol
So is there a place on a board that is known to cause this problem, or a cap or ??? that one would suspect first on my 61SBX59B Hitachi??
Sure appreciate your time and help. Thank you very much.. Stringpickin
