I've got an old CRT (I'm not sure of the manufacturer, maybe Sanyo; I do know it was made in 1995) that is displaying a very heavily bowed-in hourglass picture. It was given to me by a friend who couldn't stand to look at it any more.
I searched for any controls on the remote or the set itself that might address the pincushion/hourglass ratio, but couldn't find any. Also no luck with the TV's on-screen menus (I found audio, color, contrast, brightness, etc., but no pincushion/hourglass).
However, while I had it on for about ten minutes last night, it briefly flickered back to normal shape for about 8-10 seconds, then flickered back to hourglass.
Can anyone tell me what might be causing this problem? Is it fixable or even worth fixing?
Thanks in advance.

You have a dry joint in the East/west section, You need a magnifying glass and a soldering iron with solder to fix thjis. If thats not for you then move on. Rob
