Panasonic CT-2751SFS issues

Hey all. I recently acquired a free TV from my friend, since he was taking his own to college. I got it from his basement, and it hasn't been used in a long time. It's a Panasonic CT-2751SFS, as stated in the title.

I can watch TV for maybe 20 minutes, and then it cuts to static and stays that way. When I turn off the TV and then turn it back on, it starts to work again, but strangely, it only works for as long as I kept the TV off.

What could the issue be? Is it something that could be fixed easily, or is it just due to the fact that the TV is 14 years old?

Thanks in advance.
Evan

It could be= The Eprom, The micro, a regulator, the tuner, a bad joint. Without a few tests no one can tell.

Is there an easy way to knock a few of those possibilities out? I have very few tools that I could use, but I have enough to take the TV apart, (de)solder, etc.

I plan to take the back off and just get some dust out of the TV, since I'm sure that isn't helping, but the fact that the timing is so exact is strange to me.
