Hello,

Complete newbie question. My Hitachi 32"CRT is powering up but with NO screen picture at all. Red stand-by llight comes on and if I pres the channel button , it dims as if actioning it but there's no movement of anything on the screen at all.

Is it dead ?

Your set is responding to some form of short. The part could cost from 30C to $100 or even beyond repair. There is no absolutes in life.
