Lightning hit a tree down the road from where I live, several electronic thingies died, one was my TV. Is there a test to see if its fixable? Or is there a fuse somewhere that could be changed easily?

Simple answer is no, sorry. No one can tell what is dead or alive in the TV, also you face the prospect of further failures if its fixed. In my many years fixing I always advised the TV will fail again twice after this sort of thing, that was the average.

Thanks for your response, not the answer I was hoping for. But at least now I can chuck it with reasonable assurance I'm not throwing away a good or fixable set.
