Sharp colour television

i was workin on this dead sharp tv, and after replacing the fualt components the hot C5887 and resister 6w3.9rj with 10w 4e7 resistor the set worked but the screen is not completely full/

When the output transistor goes its fairly common for the East West to be damaged. I dont know what chassis you have but the normal is an efficiency diode from the collector of the output to another diode to chassis. The junction of the diodes is where the East West is taken from. You may have a 4.7uF electrolytic there that looks big for its voltage, this must take high ripple, if that looks shot its a special part normal electro's will not do. That junction then feeds the East/west transistor or Fet via a low value safety resistor and a modulator coil. The coil can go faulty but the resistor (1ohm etc) is common find and check it. There is always a safety resistor, I know of one model where its under the coil, so look for it.
