Toshiba 20AS36

TV will not come on, I notice that the thermistor that is in series with the degauss coil is very hot. if I unplug the coil, the thyermistor does not get hot

Thermistors work by getting hot, thats the first test I do in a TV is test if thats hot. So plug it back in, if that faults it blows a fuse. If its 3 legged its a PTC /NTC which is positive temperature coefficient and obviously Negative da da da. what they do is basically act as a temperature switch.

Thanks. Its a thermistor, 2 legs. I replaced it with one from a similar model TV that is functional. Got hot too. I known degaused then stops current flow. I will check down the low voltage power supply area.
