You gave very little clues, you say it goes to standby, is the standby LED lit, does it blink an error code?
There could be many reasons for it 'tripping' ranging from just wanting a good re-solder because of bad joints (known as dry or cold joints)or it could be a component in trouble.
Without doing any test, we can't say 'Oh, just change that and it'll put it right'... it could be the power supply unit, the line output stage the list is endless.
Remember there are very high voltages in a TV set....
Its the Volt that jolt and the mils that kill, if you don't know what a mil is I would refer it to someone familiar with TV sets.
